I have the same plant and it just opened its first big bud today. Mine is a replacement for the Crownfox Lemon Ice I had last summer from Home Depot (yes, it actually had a legit tag). The previous one stayed in bloom all last summer, but by the time I repotted it was too late for its root system. In November I found my replacement at Odom's in spike x2 and bought it. A couple months ago I accidentally knocked off the tip of one spike, but it almost immediately put forth a replacement from the node right below the break. It has since grown about a foot beyond the breakage and has a half dozen buds, including one that is just starting to pop open today. The other spike, which was just a couple inches when I bought it, is about equal in size to the one I interrupted, a little more than 2 feet high, and has one bloom most of the way open and 7 buds to go. To my eye, the color of this Crownfox Lemon Ice is more toward a pale lime green, as was its late predecessor. I've been really looking forward to this one blooming; the deceased was my fave last year.

Hmm, something strange with mine. Over the course of the past week 4 of the buds have opened, 2 on each spike, but while the sepals are fully opened, the petals are stilll only partially opened on each. I've been watering judiciously, about once weekly, and mist the exposed roots regularly. The temperature ranges from 65 to 70F and I have them in moderate light, about 6 feet in and off to the side from a southern window. My humidity is about 40-45% in recent days. While the spikes were growing, I had it right at a southern window, with the mini-blinds partially closed during mid-day hours on sunny days. I moved the plant to it's present position a couple days after the first bloom opened. The one I had last year was purchased in May in bloom and kept blooming through a very hot summer, sitting in about the same spot where its replacement is. The flowers aren't wilting at all and only 1 tiny bud at the tip of one spike blasted.

Any ideas what may be tripping this plant up?

Now, I see what happened. Mine is totally peloric, with not just the coloring, but also a little bit of a callus structure on each of the petals. And they still aren't opening all the way as a result. 7 blooms opened and they are all this way. I'll try to get a pic later when I have some time.

UPDATE: I just ordered another blooming size, this time from R. F. Orchids, hoping it won't be peloric.
