It's been 3 weeks since the first flower opened still not yet done... Even the plant got impatient and is growing new leaf.

Close up.

The flowers are small. Some kind of equestris or doritis hybrid?

A real beauty and a new leaf on top of all these blooms. That does seem a bit exceptional. AL

It has a very different lip shape from most Phals. It's pretty whatever it is.

New spike

Is it normal(genetics) for the spike to be so long? It looks a bit like a leggy plant from not enough sun.

WOW! what pretty blooms you have. The tall spike is genetics. You better support your spike or you might lose your flowers if it breaks.

It,s normal. Judging by the flower shape and in particular the lip, I'd say that your plant has a high percentage of Doritis (now Phal) pulcherrima in its background. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a primary hybrid. Doritis pulcherrima is known for having extremely long spikes with the blooms clustered at the top. I have a primary hybrid of this orchid ( crossed with Phal equestris), and it does the same thing, although the spikes are a bit shorter than yours!

Lovely!

I agree with Camille that it looks to have a high percentage of pulcherrima in it to have that flower shape. I love the delicate look this flower shape gives.
