I see you are in zone 9b so that is pretty warm. Not sure what your temps get to during fall and winter, but if they are cool enough you could try setting them on a balcony or near a window where it gets cooler at night. This is usually done in the fall, so don't know if it would help to do it now.

You can leave the windows open at night.
