It's pretty common for popular hybrids to flood the market for a few years. Once growers think the market is saturated they move on to something else, and that orchid is no longer available. That is one reason to buy something you really like at the time you see it as you may not ever see it again.

Thanks all. This seasons blooms are the best I've seen. The petals are so thick and rich in color and the blooms size are the biggest I've seen from this plant yet.

Lovely phal! I dream to have phal species in my collection, but I am a little afraid about my condition ( I have just catt and laelia species for the moment).

Congrats for your're beauty!

Gorgeous. I gave my Ember to my best friend and he's growing it well. I'll see if I can get pics. But yours is really nice and vigorous! Is it a clone? How is it doing 3 years later?

Hey hey,

I heard it's a bit of a tricky plant to grow? I have like 20 phals, mostly schilleriana, stuartianas and gigantea hybrids, mixed with the odd hybrid and some tetraspis. So, would you say it's a toigh customer? Given that is has violacea in its lineage I reckon its more of a wajmr grower? I'd put it on a south western window sill second row... many thx in advance! Now as Ive heard its FRAGANT Im even mire tempted to get a hand on an ember!! =)
