Talking 2 New Phals, a Neostylis, and a Vanda.

Over the weekend I went to 2 seperate greenhouses and bought some new orchids. I picked up a Phal. Pallens and a Phal. Bellina on Saturday. Today, I bought a Neostylis Lou Sneary 'Bluebird' which has a lot of new root growth, a side growth, and just finished blooming on three seperate spikes. I also bought another Vanda Rinka. Some of you may remember that about 2 weeks ago I posted about a frozen Vanda Rinka, I really wanted another, so I got one. This one has a newly started spike. Here are some pictures of my new plants.

I had no idea that I was going to get another Neostylis after my other died. When I saw it, I knew that I had to have it. So it followed me home.

I really like your Phal. Pallens! And that Vanda is huge! I really like the wood basket it is in!

The vanda rinka is not really in the basket. the person who sold it to me grows his vandas in plastic pots. All I did was sit the plant in the basket. It looks like it has grown in the basket because of the wild roots. They cover the pot up, so you can't see it. The wooden basket is octagonal just in case you wanted to get one.

Sadly we won't be seeing this vanda blooming anytime soon. While watering it yesterday morning I noticed that the spike has died. The only thing that I can think of is the enviromental change. From being in a greenhouse to being in a house. Hopefully another spike will emerge soon and I will be posting pictures of it. I can't wait. I was also looking at the neostylis today and noticed that it has bloomed 19-10 times previously.. The seller told me to expect more spikes soon. Can't wait.
