Default NOID For Now

I won this lovely off of my society's raffle table. Poor thing looked terrible. It had snails and was pretty much half eaten. Everyone avoided it like the plague. I happened to be the last ticket drawn, and that was the only plant left on the table. I almost declined to take it. In the end I did. The tag was terribly faded, and I can only make out a few words on it. Repotted, and got rid of the nasties. It grew a bunch over the summer and this fall it threw a spike. I'm really glad I took it because I think the flower is beautiful. One of my society members said she thought the grower was Sky Island Orchids. I have emailed them with pictures and what I can read from the tag. I'm hoping it won't be a NOID for long.

I love it! I think there's some stuartiana in its genes.
But the most important thing here is that you rescued it. Congratulations! Good karma

Beautiful!!! I'm a bit surprised that such ratty plants can be raffled off, isn't the point to win a nice plant? But me too, in the end I would have been very happy to have such nice blooms.

What's the words/letters on the tag? Maybe we can help you out too.

You can always call it 'Freckles'.

Down at the bottom of the tag it says SIO's Chaos. I think this would have been it's name had Bill and Linda bothered to register it. At the top of the tag on the first line all I can make out is the clonal name 'Valley' and it's crossed with something illegible x Carmela's Wild Thing.

The blooms are lovely. All the poor thing needed was a little TLC. Good job!

Linda from Sky Island just emailed me. The plant's name is SIO's So Wild. Parents are Phal. Be Glad 'Echo Valley' x Phal. Brother Wild Dorothy 'SIO's Chaos'. Yay she's not a NOID anymore.
