How can you not like this hybrid? Its to be blamed for my orchid obsession, for sure. Though my tastes have varied and expanded, when I see this one pushing a spike, I know I'm in for a show. It is spiking two new spikes but these flowers are from the first spike it's ever grown (3 total on the plant now).

Our concept of time does not reveal it, but, when these blooms open they "flare", throwing the petals back towards the spike, but will, in a day or so, right themselves to present a relatively flat bloom, giving a great presentation.

I'm hoping for a magnificent display-- with three spikes I think this can be done!

Ah, what a beauty! I love dramatic contrast of the background color vs veining.

Gorgeous, you are right how can you not like BK.

Interesting what you say about the behaviour of the flower, because I have a BK look-alike NoID and it does the same thing.

Love BK, and I like I posted yesterday about a similar Phal, I really wonder why I don't have one! (or a look a like)

Yes, I do love BK... in fact I have 3 of them and each has a different "intensity" in the color. And then there is the peloric BK. The first one is NOT BK but an impostor... a look-a-like, a wanna be!

I trust, Pilot, you don't mind be adding to your post, cuz I certainly don't want to detract from your beautiful BK and all the pride you have expressed over it!

How bright and beautiful. I really need to see about adding this one to the fold.
