2 New Additictions! I mean additions.
I picked these two jewels up today at my local greenhouse for a really good price. I got them both for $45. They are both beautiful and I just could't choose one over the other, so I got both. The one in bloom is Phal. mini mark 'Holm,' and the one that has 3 low spikes is Phal. (Harford's jewel 'Carney Red' x Venusberg 'Copperclad'). I cannot wait to see what color it blooms because Al, the guy who sold them to me, said that every one of the ones that he has seen bloom is a different color.
Anyways here are some pictures of my new babies.

Mini Mark is awesome! I have one and it is currently in full bloom. It flowers (for me) ever year at this time and makes more blooms each year. Enjoy!

I would look at the last orchid. From the pics it just looks like new root growth. You may not have spikes. But it's hard to tell from the pic.

They are beautiful. Enjoy! I agree with skyheaven, it looks like new roots and not spikes. But thats real good too. They both look very happy and healthy!

Love Mini Mark! I have one too, it's one of my favorites. Sadly it's really beat up after several mealybuf attacks and sunburn. It's really weak, so I think I'll get another one.
Curious to see the blooms on the other one.

I'm not trying to be rude when I say this, but I don't know how else to say it. They are spikes. They are not the big whitish-gray things, but if you look to the left of the plant you will notice that there are 2 spikes just starting. To help you locate them look at the top and the bottom of the second leaf on the left of the picture and you should see them. The 3rd spike is down in between one of the leaves. In person you would definately be able to tell that they are spikes. Again, if that sounded offensive, I truely did not mean for it to be, and I am also sorry for poor picture quality.

Chris, I see two spikes on the left side of the plant. I can't make out the third unless it's still buried in the leaf.
You'll love Mini Mark. Mine is in bloom now too. As it matures it will begin to throw multiple spikes, and then it's spikes will begin branching. Mine is putting on a nice show right now. Unfortunately when I was returning it to it's spot on the shelf I failed to notice the spike had gone up over the top of one of T5 lights. The heat from the light scorched 3 of the buds which ultimately dropped. Does yours have scent? Mine smells faintly like an orange 50/50 bar (citrus & vanilla) from about 10-3.

No worries it's just hard to tell from the photo. I defiantly see new roots. That's great. And to the left I do see two green nodes they are just really small and not yet developed much in the photo. I am sure in person they look like good strong spike starts. I can't wait to see a photo please post one when she comes in bloom.
