I recently purchased a new Phal, a Brother Sophia. It was only £4.10 and it seemed to be pushing out a new spike. When I got home I realized that there were 2 Brother Sophias in the one pot!!!!
I repotted them to give both plants more room for their roots. Now I have one in beautiful bloom and the other with a good looking flower spike! Couldn't be happier!
I don't know what you did, but it certainly worked out great! Repotting is not usually something a orchid likes immediately, but in your case these orchids seemed to follow your logic and are loving it. AL
Thanks! I was worried too at first about repotting them so early in case they wouldn't bloom.. But the two plants looked so cramped in the tiny pot so I decided to go for it. I'm glad I did cause some of the roots were wrapped around the crown of the other plant.. I think it might have caused some serious crown rot in the long run.
