Brad, Ben has years of growing experience compared to my *counts on fingers* 7 months, but from what I've read and experienced, when sphagnum is really dried out, it will not absorb water readily and seems to actually repel water for a bit. So try and water it before it gets crispy crunchy.

This was wet 3/4 of the way down it was the 1/4 that dry. The water would not filter thru the spag because of how tight it was packed. It was like no other I have repotted. I repotted it like my others in a loose, spag / monterey bark mix from repotme. I hope that will not hurt the plant by changing it from a super tight pack to a loose sag mix?

Brad
