I'll add a picture of mine to this thread rather than starting a new one. This is a great plant and as Tess said, it has an awesome fragrance.

I have spent $30 on orchids I decided was a waste of money and I have spent $100+ on orchids that I never regretted. This falls into the latter category.

Beauty!
It looks like it's made with gold!
What does the fragrance remind you of?

Exactly Ben! A lot of my 30.00 plants have brought me enjoyment but when these $100.00+ badboys flower it's sheer jubilation! Plus the flower quality can't be beat.
The scent reminds me of juicyfruit gum.

I will have to go with Tess as I'm not really good at describing smells. Maybe kinda like a rose with some lemon/citrus thrown in.

Like most guys, if you get away from the 7-8 basic colors and the light and dark versions of those, I can't tell you what color something is either.

To defy your theory of money spent to beauty of orchid .. I have spent $20 (even less) on orchids(phals for example) that have given me much delight !!! in bloom and in foilage ..
I would hope any orchid at any price brings excellent results
