Phal Purple Gem

Unfortunately I don't have any pics of this one in full bloom (left it in France while I'm in the netherlands a few months), but do have a pic of the first bloom, that I took in mid october. I'll see if I can get my sis to take a pic of it in full bloom for me.

I got this one as a Dtps/Phal Purple Gem (Doritis pulcherrima x Phal equestris), but it looks nothing like the Purple Gem pictured in Orchidwiz or eve here on OB. On the french forum I'm a part of, everyone's Purple Gem look like mine. Same on other EU sites. Either there's a lot of variation in this cross, or someone has a name wrong somewhere!

Interesting about the name. It could mean that the European ones were from a cross made seperately to the American ones and the variation in the parents led to a difference in the cross... or clones of a wrongly labled plant has spread arround.
