Bellina hybrid?
Default Bellina hybrid?

My bellina finally bloomed. Only 1 tiny flower but still exciting because first bloom.

The scent is more perfumey than the plant that made me want to own this.

PS I read that bellinas are sequential bloomers? What does that mean exactly? Only 1 flower open per spike at any time?

On a young small plant it probably won't happen, but on an established plant, bellinas will often have a new bud forming as the old flower is fading. This is sequential blooming. Once your plant it larger, don't cut the spikes and they will keep producing flowers for a time.

Really nice.

I have a bellina which blasted it's first ever bud, luckly another is now forming on the same spike and I hope it does better. It seems to grow the spike/buds soooooo slowly

Very pretty! As mentioned before, don't cut the spike off. Next year it will bloom from that same spike and, if you're lucky, it will send up a second spike also. I love those small phals.

Thanks everyone for being so nice.

Rosie, I'm sorry to hear that. Mine grew quicker after I flipped it to face morning sun instead of evening sun.

Does the fragrance get stronger as the plant matures? Right now i have stick my nose pretty close to it.

It's lovely. What makes you think it's a hybrid?
