I was only thinking the other day that I aught to give an update.

Two of the three tips have grown into long spikes. The third stalled not much bigger than in the pics above.

I've not staked this and the spikes are going very sideways at the momment, no sign of buds yet.

I will try and get pictures later today, but I have several plants I've been meaning to get pics of for several weeks (including some in flower which I need to get before the flowers fade) and I keep thinking "I'll do that tonight" or "I'll do that tommorow" and have not got arround to it

I know what you mean about putting off taking pics. I had several phals in bloom in France while I was there in sept/oct, but I never got around to taking pics. One of them I'm especially upset about since it's its first blooming in my care, and the color is a an amazing dark purple. It's called Phal Purple Gem (Doritis pulcherrima x Phal. equestris). Rosie, do you think the one that's stalled might grow once the two which are bloom/ die back?

I will be kicking myself if I put off taking pics of these until it's too late... one of them is my bulldog paph which now has three flowers open at once. I had a pic with only one open, but want one wilth all three. I have a really bad, quick snap in-situ, but I want proper ones in front of the black background.

Anyway... this one is Phal Minho Princess, which it seems is well known to branch easily as most references I find to the hybrid mention the branching spikes. I haven't got particularly good shots of the flowers, but here is one.

Definately crossing my fingers as well! I really like that creamy colour with purple veins (I'm a purple gal anyway, but this is really nice *goes away muttering jealously* )
