Default Red-lipped, green Phal NOID

Hi Everyone! I haven't been on in a while, for various reasons, but I'm back!

I've been very good for over 6 months now not buying a single orchid. But today I was buying groceries at Safeway and this little gem caught my eye. Unfortunately it is a NOID, but it was so enchanting that I couldn't resist! Luckily the roots are really healthy too! The color is so hard to capture, but it's sort of like key lime pie or mint ice cream. The lip is this gorgeous fuschia raspberry hue and there are speckles of the same color on the lower petals. I wish I could capture the true colors of this flower for you! Neither of the below pictures is really accurate. The second is close, but doesn't show the full depth of color.

Good to see you again! 6 months without a new orchid!!

That's a nice plant, one that probably would have followed me home too. Well, maybe, I've started to bring plants in and the little devils have multiplied this summer!! How can that be? LOL

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! It's good to be back!

Yes, I managed to go quite some time without buying any orchids at all. One reason is my house is packed with them. Another is I still live with my parents during the summer and next summer I may be interning somewhere (not sure where, yet), so I'll have to leave my parents in charge of ALL my plants istead of the few I leave when I go to school. I've wittled down my collection to a fairly manageable amount, I think. And I felt the need for more biodiversity, so I actually stopped getting orchids to find some other houseplants.

I don't think I have many plants, but my parents and friends seem to disagree.

I try to keep an up to date list, but I'm usually propagating something and waiting to see if it will take before I add it, and sometimes I just miss one. But here's my list as it was last time I checked:

With my parents (for now)
Orchids
Phal Great White NOID
Phal Sogo Yuukidan 'V3'
Phal bastianii
Phal (Doritis) pulcherrima 'Coerules'
Dtps. Rong Guan Mary
Dtps. I-Hsin Ice Coke 'KH7155'
Brassia Eternal Wind 'Hawaiian Breeze'
Howeara Puanani 'Lavaburst'
Paphiopedalum 'Macabre'
Maxillaria tenuifolia
Dendrobium nobile 'Swallow'
Dendrobium kingianum

Others
Clivia miniata (2)
Hoya spp. (carnosa, carnosa variegata, and 'Mini Bell')
Platycerium bifurcatum
Aeschynanthus radicans variety
Adiantum raddianum (not 100% sure of the species)
Pellaea rotundifolia
Schlumbergera truncata
Ceropegia woodii
Satsuma mandarin orange
Begonia masoniana
Begonia sp. (miniature angel wing type)
Sansevieria trifasciata 'Laurentii'
Billbergia nutans

Bottle Garden (5 gal)
Begonia sp. (miniature angel wing type)
Polystychum tsus-tsimense
Maranta leuconeura var. leuconeura (3)
Ludisa discolor
Fittonia nervosa

With me (again, for now. lol)
Orchids
Phal yellow NOID and green/red-lipped NOID
Phal stuartiana
Phal philippinensis (Joan X Cascade)
Phal equestris
Neofinetia falcata 'Pine'
Isabelia virginalis
Leptotes bicolor
Bl. Sunset Glory
Ludisia discolor

Others
Neoregelia 'Zoe'
Neoregelia ampullacea
Cryptanthus varieties: Black Mystic, Strawberry Flambe, pseudoscaposus, Opal, SE27, Ruby, and two NOIDS
Anthurium scherzeranum variety
Vase (Hypoestes 'Red Splash' and Selaginella kraussiana 'Brownii'
Crassula argentea 'Gollum'
Dracaena marginalis
Ficus elastica
Aloe variegata
Ceropegia woodii 'Pink'
Peperomia argyreia
Various tillandsias (about 14)

And waiting in a greenhouse until they are established in their pots:
Aechmea fasciata
Dracaeca godseffiana

I may end up with more by the end of the year. I work in a conservatory at my college and can propagate anything I want.
