I'd go with clear so you can see how those roots are doing.

I have to agree with the leaves not being an indicator. My Dtps. Taida Salu doesn't have a leave over 6 inches, nor does my Phal. Brother Sara Gold. And they both bloom twice a year (the Taida Salu will actually bloom continuously, two buds at a time unless I cut the spike!).

I also second the clear pots. They are great for monitoring root growth and repotting.
