It's all in the genes. I won't bore y'all with that though. I find color genetics fascinating- feline color genetics are cool too. For instance, all cats are genetically tabbies (T gene)- but the stripes only show if they carry the Agouti gene (Aa or AA), but they'll be solid or another pattern if they don't have it (aa).

hehe - yeah - I had read that black cats are tabbies, and sure enough - in strong light I could see faint brownish black tabby markings on mine.

stunning Phal - you better let us all know if you find one - and if you do - I bet there's gonna be a run on them lol

I'm wondering if that horse's feelings aren't hurt because Izzie said its butt didn't look good. Poor thing.

LOL.

Well no luck yet all... no one seems to know of this plant. I got some responses already-- some suggesting where I could try next, others probably never even bothered looking (they were kinda rude!).

I'll keep everyone updated.

The photo you saw on internet was of a plant in a botanical garden in germany. I'll try to see if I can dig up anything on that side, maybe email the place.

Thanks Camille! I really appreciate your help. Last night when I got home I got the book out and the photo link you posted is the exact one in the book.

I have struck out with looking for this amazing phal. I even emailed the German guy who had this photo posted and even he had no idea where it came from. Sorry all. If you happen to find out, please post here.
