Is this unusually large for a phal? I've never seen one that tall before. Perhaps because you are in Florida?
I'm really starting to like Yellow orchids!

I've seen some other very tall phals...maybe some of our phal experts will chime in with some info.

All your yellow phals are lovely. I even don't know which one is better.

Tall Yellow Phals
It has nothing to do with being in Florida.
My Tai Pei Gold x Cassandra #2 has a 2 foot high spike. and I am in New York.
(Well I got it that tall, I don't rightly know where it came from )

The spike on one of my Plals is 42 inches (3.5 feet) long and they can get bigger than that.

Yea thats a tall phal!
My tallest phals has to be on my large pink and large whites. Sometimes they just want to tip over when the blooms get heavy

My biggest phal can grow 1 meter spike (I'm not sure how many inches it is). This year it is shorter, may be because last year spike grew in summer and this one grew in winter.

Truly amazing. I had no idea they get that tall. I guess it's the older phals that get this big.
