I have been searching and searching and nowhere can I find any official flower at all for the Expo Shanghai 2010.
The only orchid I found refered to was the Den I mentioned above. The Expo Shanghai 2010 website gives absolutly no hint of any official orchid for the expo at all.

Even as a noid it is still a great phal with a amazing spike .....I would love to bloom one that well.

Yes, no info about the flowers on the expo website. I guess its not important enough when you got $58 billion worth of other things to show off during the expo.

Speaking of reblooming - Do growers use special hormone/fertilizer to produce spike of over 30 flowers?

The easiest way to clone it is to get it stem propagated from a lab there that does that.

There might be legal issues in your country with cloning a cultivar that you have not bred yourself as well. Certainly cloning more than a few for re-sale might be against the law.

If you can't get it cloned you could always just self it.

P.S. I'm not 100% on the ID, but if it's definitely a TIOS winner within the last few years, then Ming-Hsing Eagle seems pretty close.

The most important thing they do is stop it from flowering for a number of years so that it builds up a lot of energy, before they let it flower as a very mature plant only.

Some hormones increase flower count, notably BA. 200mg/L of BA applied as a foliar spray can significantly increase flower counts.

But generally it's just good culture.

I only found out about the "expo requirement for orchid" when the seller showed me the special flower and said its a left over/damaged "official" flower from the expo sites. I do not believe them at first then i asked other shop for the flowers and price and they confirmed. Its either they all lying together or it is really used in the expo. Don't know for sure untill i see one myself in the expo site.

I do know that this flower is rarely seen on the market here and ussually custom ordered for high-prized gift to important person ussually government officials, ceo, etc...

As for cloning - It is definitely legal to clone flowers as long as you can pay for it. I don't know any grower or orchid society here. I am just a beginner collector.

The people that know most about orchid is orchid farmers and chinese medicine herbalist. Many orchids especially dendrobium are used for medicinal purpose.

Thanks for the info. I realize there is an old flower spike stud at the base. So this is not the first time the flower bloomed. The plant is massive compared to other phal. So i think it probably have grown for several years. The seller also claim that it blooms longer than other breed. Is this possible? different phal hybrid have different blooming duration?
