Phal. Red Jaguar Male
Default Phal. Red Jaguar

I bought this phal last October from a orchid trader from Germany and when it arrived it wasn't in the best of health.
The roots had nearly all rotted away and the leaves were in a bit of a mess.
Anyway, I cleaned it up the best I could and repotted it into a smaller pot with some sphagnum moss and styrofoam. I gave it a weekly dose of superthrive and six months later it has a new set of roots and yesterday opened its first flower.
It is the first time I have successfully revived a phal and I am so glad it was this one, I just love the flowers on this.

I love such gigantea hybrids, but I only have one - Sogo RedFox. Below is a page with some photos. It now has two plants growing in a basket.

Congratulations on saving this guy and bringing it into bloom again. Be proud of yourself.

Ray, yours is beautiful. You need a greenhouse to grow a monster like that. It looks great.
