Pete,

I am a species nut so I would have to say amabilis, aphrodite and philippinense. I still have to get a sanderiana alba which seems to be available at Oak Hill Gardens.

I would also agree amabilis is a great choice.

Here are some of my favorites. I'm more into novelties.

bellina alba I don't have a pic of

violacea alba 'KF#11'

Valentinii alba 'Ben Belton'

Tzu Chiang Chrisna 'Joy'

Same flower a few days later after it had turned completely white.

Awesome Ben! I especially like this one...Tzu Chiang Chrisna 'Joy'

Orchid Tess - That amabilis is also pretty awesome!

One unrelated question...what are those "mineral deposits" that I see on the leaves of many orchids? Looks like fertilizer residue. Are we supposed to foliar feed our orchids as well?

It might just be calcium it someone has hard water. I don't foliar feed, but my plants get soaked when I water, so I'm sure I have a little fertilizer deposits on my leaves.
