I was suprised by this thinking this keiki was getting her third root and it turned out another keiki. This is the second and third keiki from my Phal Taisuco GloryxDtps. Sogo Manager off the same stalk. The mother plant is very large and a "mama" machine because she keeps growing. When these are big enough to seperate I will cut the stalk off to give her a rest and enjoy her and her triplets.
I've only had a couple of keikis, only on a couple of phals but I have never heard of a keiki on a keiki and everyone is super healthy. I have never used paste they just happen naturally. Orchids are soooo much fun. I mostly have paphs but have gotten hooked on peloric phals.
Peloria is a mutation in which the color and/or pattern of the lip is repeated in the other two petals. Sometimes it's mild and only adds a subtle flared petal look, but sometimes it's prominent and the flowers look like they have three lips.
I've been collecting peloric phal.s for years, something freaky and fun works for me! Probley have 8 or so. I'am also into species phal.s these day's, very collectable. Be sure to to put the Sacramento show on your calendar, the Phal. aliense meets there again these year, April 17&18 at the Scottish rite temple
