Phals with root burn? what to do? Female
Default Phals with root burn? what to do?

Ive been noticing a change in 3 of my 4 best growing phals (3 are in bloom right now).
Ive noticed the surface of their roots are turning brown in spots... what would cause this? should i be worried, and what can i do?

sorry if the pics are a little unclear, i had just watered them.

They appear to be staining from the tannins leaching out of the wood chips.

Staining of the roots from tannins are pretty common.

Let's see if others agree or disagree.

I agree with King as well. I've seen this lots of times and it's never seemed to cause any problem.
