Smile New Phal Hybrid & new camera to take Pics

I bought a new compact camera yesterday and so I had to get a new Phal so I had some flowers to test it on.

My last camera had a good macro (for a 5year old compact) so I was very concerned to make sure I got one that was at least as good. (The flash on the old one has failed over Christmas). This one seems pretty impressive and I was really pleased with this shot my hubby took with the lense right up against close to the flower.

I do have a mini-tripod and the first two shots were taken using it, but the last one was just holding the camera.

I'm really thrilled with both the camera and the Phal.

What an excuse to get another orchid. I like it. I might have to borrow the idea sometime.

LOL, thank you for another excuse to buy more orchids. I need to practise with my camera's manual settings... ;-)
I really like that Phalaenopsis, good choice!

It's a Cannon Powershot SX200 IS.

It has a 12x zoom which won't help for 'chids but will be great when I go on holiday

Looks good enough to me! I can see the details of the petals down to the mid-ribs of the petals and sepals.
