New Phal Hybrid & new camera to take Pics

I'm going to an orchid show in a couple weeks, maybe I should get a new camera

That's a good camera. Photography is my greatest passion/obsession, but orchids are closing in fast.

I have a Powershot SX10is which is very similar but has a 24x lens. I mostly my SLR (also a Canon) for macro.

Yeah, an SLR would be even better for Macros but I wanted something I could slip in my pocket on holiday. This one is quite large as compacts go but will still small enough for my needs.

Also I'm not really a photogropher (although taking orchid pics is getting me more interested in understanding) and the price of an SLR still seems too much compared to my ability to get the best out of it.
