We had several days of below 40 nights here in South Florida recently. I wrapped my orchid house in plastic and ran a space heater out there but it was very windy and by the end of the cold weather a lot of the plastic had come down. My phals (and some others), most w/spikes started, are losing their leaves. If they lose all their leaves will they die?
If their root system is intact they can lose all their leaves and keep growing. A few species do this annually such as P. taenialis, p. hainanensis, p. honghenensis and P. wilsonii.
