Default Cut Spike

Now that the flowers are gone. Will it re-bloom in the same season. I cut the spike just above the node and put candle wax on the cut. That was about a week ago

May be yes, may be no. May be that spike will never bloom again. No one will know for sure, except the plant.

I have seen phalaenopsis rebloom on the same spike. I have had them where they just hang out and do nada...so rule of thumb would be to cut it back see what will happen and if it does not show any signs of reblooming in 4-6 weeks, cut it back if you like.

I'm with Cheryl. Sometimes (actually, mostly) yes, but sometimes no. I've rarely had one NOT rebloom, however the second (and sometimes third) bloom(s) are generally weak compared to the initial bloom. Go for it.

Exactly! Just do what you've done so far to bring it to bloom.
