Default Dtps. Rong Guan Mary

I can only take credit for not killing this bloom, because it arrived in spike. This is the first bloom I've been able to enjoy for awhile because I've only had 2 orchids long enough to get them to bloom (most of mine are rescuees or seedlings) and they are both with my parents while I attend college. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

It's so hard to really capture the electric purple and that white edge. I think the last picture is the most accurate, but it still lacks some of the vibrancy of the actual bloom.

Anyways...Enjoy!

VERY nice Evan! Love the white edging against the bright color.

Well done, Evan! Time to add to your collection now, I think, since you've figured this one out!!

Gorgeous.

Is it a mini? I have a mini with very similar flowers (including the white edge). Well I say I have one... I have one I've almost killed and it may yet be a gonner but the cut flower spike is still doing well in water.

Thanks for the compliments everybody!!

Rosie, I'm not sure I'd call it a mini, but it is compact. The spike is about half the length of most standard size phals, the flowers are about 2.25 inches wide, and the leaves are a bit shorter. I saw some super minis at Fred Meyers the other day, couldn't believe how tiny they were! No tags of course.

Yeah, mine is not as mini as some of my others but 'compact' probably does describe it.
