Question Phal with bad roots

I have a phal that I've had for a few months now. It has been blooming very nicely. However, all the roots seem to have dried up and/or turned black. There seems to be absolutely no living root system, it is almost just resting on top of the medium and dead roots. Otherwise though, it is doing great - it has two new buds about to bloom, and it is growing a new leaf.

Is there anything I can or should do to encourage new root growth?

Thanks!

I assume you've taken it out of the pot for a look-see at the crown roots? And I suspect it is in moss????
Pictures would be best to help you.

It used to be in moss - I repotted it in bark medium when I purchased it. I'll try to post a pic this evening.

Was it problematic when you repotted it? Did it have any good roots then? And do you have any root hormone like KLN handy?
Looking forward to seeing pictures.
