Phal equestris 'Orange'

I'm loving this one more and more the longer I have it

This bloom is on a tiny tiny keiki at the end of a spike with absolutely no roots showing at all! This time, it is looking a lot lighter in the petals. They are not as pink as they were in earlier blooms...and the lip seems to be more orange!

I always wondered why they tagged the 'orange' on the end of the name---but I can see more of the color in your lip. Thanks for sharing!!

I bought mine in February and it has been blooming its little heart out ever since And it's such a beautiful,delicate little bloom--what's not to love??

I remember this one, I like the paler petal colour and deeper lip of this keiki. & Very cool having a no roots & a flower.Are you planning to leave it on the mother to create a specimen plant or are you going to pot up seperately? (whenever it grows roots that is)

The latest bloom coming from this rootless keiki is looking more like what I was expecting when I bought it

I really love Phal equestris, no matter what color it is

There are actually two rootless keikis growing on this chid. I'll give them to friends when they're ready. They're both already spoken for

It's a cute little flower. Great to have a flower before it even has roots.

Sue, it seems that your plant also produce a quite low densitiy of flowers per spike as mine... (if compared to standard equestris, or alba, or aurea or the clon 'Dark') am I right?

we have discussed here at the orchid society about this clon. We have two members specialized on Phals. The end of the discussion was that most of us agreed that this cannot me a pure equestris, but something back and back crossed... if you carefully check the flowers, you will also see differences with other equestris (and I know you have several ) In this clon you can even see a bit of the "denticulated" border of the petals, which is typical for hybrid plants with genetical incompatibility problems (like Paph. Wössner Bellarmi)
