Thanks Jim, it is a really nice clematis. Snow, try not to be discouraged...with the winter and spring winnipeg has had its not a wonder things are having a late start. (My parents are in wpg. and fed up with the weather).
Your Clematis is also beautiful. Several years ago I had several Clematis growing along a fence. My Dad was retired, and getting older. He loved to putter in my yard. Every fall he would cut my Clematis to the ground, I kept telling him "please Dad, don't cut it down, next spring it will rebloom on the old stems". The next year he would trim it down again.
I loved my Dad and just accepted his neatnik ways. I would love to have him still around, even though I know he would trim my orchids, such as cut down the old spike on my Psychopsis after the bloom faded. Dads are priceless, orchids are replaceable, Dads are not.....Oops, now I have tears running down my face.
Hey, Jim. I finally got a camera and here is my little baby...
I got this and a little budding Phal. equestris from Hausermann and I like them both, but the fragrance from this one is very nice. When I come home, my little apartment has a nice flowery smell from this one open flower. A couple of buds are close, now, I can't wait!
