Beautiful flower. I like how it got the shape of the violacea and the striping of sumatrana.

I dug up some interesting information in my quest to locate one of these beauties. Apparently the cross violacea x sumatrana actually has two names:

Phalaenopsis x gersenii is the name of the natural hybrid, found in the wild. All orchids cloned from from of these are called x gersenii

Phalaenopsis Sulaceous is the name of the man made cross.

And I located x gersenii at a grower in Germany!

Ah, x gersenii raises it's head again. I have a cross with it and P. florencensis. It has two spikes.
