Just an update, Shannon, this is the Scarlet O'Brunzer I mentioned that looks very similar. The flowers are several months old and have changed color alittle and they are smaller than on the NOID originally posted....

There are many summer blooming hybrids. Check out phals that have a high percentage of amboinensis, venosa, and lueddemaniana as well
as violacea.
Waxy yellows with lots of ambo or venosa in them, reds or spots with lots of luedde, etc.
A lot of multifloras, such as Nobby's Amy and offspring also are setting spikes now.
I have 12 new spikes that were set in my west window in February, and 15 more that have started on my indoor-outdoor carts during March and April.
An increase in light during spring seems to trigger the spiking on summer bloomers.
Last year, spikes set in April started blooming in July and continued thru fall.

I'm always sad when phal season winds down, although by then the outdoor gardening is getting interesting again. I have some summer blooming phals that I bought to fill the void, but they aren't blooming yet (still pretty small, I think).
I do have one lovely phal that DH gave me for Valentine's Day that has about 30 flowers and not one has even drooped a bit yet! (I did give DH a big hint about where to buy orchids for me, and he did good!)
