Scent in Mini Mark?
Ok, so I have this Mini-mark currently in bloom in my office (7 blooms this time!! Yay!!) I purchased this last year as a baby. Anyway, its first blooming, it only gave me a couple of flowers--and they were not scented.
This time, however, the blooms are scented!! It's a very sweet scent, the only thing I can compare it to is a cattleya scent. Anyway, am I imagining this or is this possible?
Will it remain with scented blooms or is this just a crapshoot? Is this usual for a mini-mark? Will the scent get stronger the older the plant????
I am in love--the flowers are very delicate and the scent is siggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....
your feedback is very much appreciated.

Oh you are so lucky! My Mini Mark isn't scented at all. But maybe it will be next time. You have given me hope. lol Last summer several people on OB ordered one and I believe that a couple were scented. I just remember that everyone was testing theirs out at different times of the day to see if there was a scent yet. I hope they chime in for you.

I was shocked, to be quite honest. I realized it was scented when I picked it up to water it. I was like, "where is that sweet smell coming from?"
I'm hoping it will stay that way and that it's not an anomaly. I can't help but pick it up and random times of the day to smell it. (giggle)
Good luck with yours!!

Few of the species phals also have the faint scent. Sometimes only appears in the sunny morning or the uncertain environment.
The scent is mystrious and lovely.

My Mini Mark 'Holm' is fragrant. It's in bloom now, and was fragrant its first blooming back in June too. It is a lovely scent, very very subtle, but nicely floral. Definitely more present when the sun has been on it good in the morning. Funny thing the Phal. scents. My lobbii is fragrant—also subtle and like fresh linen. My equestris is also fragrant—but it is NOT a nice fragrance, and may have something to do with how close the blooms are to my fluorescent (kind of a burnt sugar or even rubber smell.)

Mine is scented as well, but like Yvan's it is more noticable on a warm sunny day.

Mine is not fragrant at all! I've sniffed it at all times of day, both new and old blooms, but nothing. There must be some fragrant ones, and some that are not. Some people get lucky and get a fragrant one!
