In a different forum I posted a thread asking if anyone could help me ID this Phal I just bought. It is my first plant and I'm a nervous/paranoid/curious parent. Earlier today someone posted a response saying they believe it to be Doritaenopsis Chien Xen Pearl. What do you think? Also, being a newbie and all, what does that stand for? Here is where she found the picture. Welcome To Long Pride Orchids Nursery
And here is my plant. Both blooms are on the same plant, different spikes.
Naming a NOID based on it's visual characteristics is like guessing the name of a person by the color of their eyes and hair .. sure .. it could be right but most unlikely ..
A NOID is a beautiful thing - Check this thread out - http://www.orchidboard.com/community...eed-names.html
Chain Xen Pearl is about as good a guess as you're going to get, it certainly looks like it, or something close to it, but in reality it could be one of hundreds of different pink-based harlequins..
