Oh man, the fan thing sounds like something I would do lol... I feel for ya. But don't worry, it looks to be doing alright, what with the new growth and all. Where there is a will, there is a way ;-)

Nothing a little water and a whole lotta patience won't fix lol ;-)

Try giving it a good does of epsom salts and bloom booster... I'd rest assured that I believe it will bloom again! I did this with a Phal once, too. The spike was snapped when it was barely 3 inches tall, so I had no hope of it putting out flowers until next year. It died before the following flowering season!!! :-( Another Phal of mine got knocked out a 3rd-story window after I had nursed it back from death and it was starting to spike. These things happen to all of us... talk about using some harsh language when it does! Post pictures of the flowers when it recovers!!!! :-D

Hey, Cheryl. Damaging a spike is way up there in the kick yourself sweeps.

However, having done this a number of times (with appropriate self-flagellating), what I've found is that they will either put out a strong branch from a node, or

or they will even put out a new spike almost immediately.

In other words, when the urge to bloom is on them, a little thing like a broken spike won't stop them. They just find another way to bloom.

(As you found out several days later, with the branch forming)

You may also get another spike!

Enjoy watching it adapt and find a way to bloom.
