Default interesting yellow NOId phal

Picked this up at Lowes. The wife loves yellow flowers so this one was for her. Had 2 open blooms and several buds. This bud opened few days ago. It has 8 petals and 2 lips. Guess it is a double flower if there is such a thing.

Hey Mark, Nice beautiful blooms! I would have grabbed them too. As I look at yours, I think wow, that is big and beautiful. I want one. Then I realize I have 5 yellow phals as it is....but yours is so big and beautiful!!!!! I think I'm going for 6 now. You are now officially an "enabler."

I'm not sure this is considered a peloric? I remember having this explained that it's one of the 'other' oddities that sometimes occur in the development of the buds...as if 2 potential separate buds, merge while forming. A bad analogy but like, Siamese twins? As well, aren't peloric growths consistent on a spike and not random? It's just this one flower, not the entire spike, correct?

It's just one of the curious oddities that happen. Keeps things interesting! This Phal is a beauty, brewmyster...great find!

This happened to my Miltassia Shelob, just once, on one spike and never again afterwards. Here's a pic for reference....

The first pic is the alien, fused bloom, the second, a normal looking bloom for comparison.

This sounds reasonable, it does look more like a double bloom. There are so many variations in "peloric" though.........

That looks really cool! I wonder if it will do it again next time it blooms....
