Default Garden store phal pal

Bonjour all,

I pick this tiny (noid) Phal up last year in our local gardening store. It has grown like a weed.

1 flower opened up yesterday the other this morning. I detected a slight fragance
2nd photo is of the leaf.

Thanks for looking

Wow, that's a really pretty flower. Weird about the leaf. I haven't seen a leaf like that before.

Thanks Nicole
I think the spotty leaves are a cross from a species, just not sure which one.

Phal. schilleriana and Phal. stuartiana both have mottled leaves. You've done a great job growing that plant. Ohh -- Phal. schilleriana also has a mild fragrance.

Phal. stuartiana can also have a slight fragrance. I'd guess maybe yours has some stuartiana, with the spotting on the flower.

Whatever it is, it sure is great!

Thank you kindly folks

I consider this to be one of those store finds, it was in a 2 inch tiny pot packed with Sphag.moss and I knew they would probably kill it. It had a 3inch spike with 2 small flowers almost faded away.
I got it home and it did nothing for close to 4 months (all summer) Sept hit and it went nuts!
It now sits in a 5in pot packed with roots. I really love this one, its done so well, so far

Thanks again

P. philippenense (pardon my spelling) also has mottled leaves, a white flower, and sometimes a fragrance.
