So nice!

By the way, do you keep your cyms outside in the fall to get them to spike/ get them in the greenhouse without causing the buds to die?

I must say, I haven't had the best luck growing these, despite what others say that they are easy.... maybe to grow but not to flower....anyway, not for me. I leave them in as much sun as I can and outside until the overnite temps are around 45 to 50, then in to the GH and whatever happens, happens. Unfortunately, I don't really have the room in the GH to get them enough sunlite and this may be why they don't flower well for me

Well from what I can see from your picture, they look great! I have mine in south facing window where it get full sun, and cold night temps next to the glass. Mine is only a large seedling though, so I have yet to see if I can get it to bloom!

What medium do you grow yours in?

Wow, that P Brother Sara looks just like one of my Noids! Can you please tell me how big the flower is across? Another one may get a name.

Also your photographs are superb, I have real trouble persuading the camera to get the colours correct even using the special flower setting. Would you be so kind as to tell us which camera you use, please, and on what settings?

thanking you in advance
Heather aka

The flower is about 5 cm x 4.5 cm.

As for picture taking...there have been many post of late addressing this subject. The bottom line is each of us has developed their own technique with the camera and accessories they may have at hand. I have a Nikon D80 and use a Sigma 105 mm Macro lens. I also play with the white balance and change the temperature (Kelvin) of the picture to match my lighting. There are all sorts of things you can do and many times the color rendering I get isn't what my eye sees and I get frustrated, too. Just keep practicing and you will get the kinds of picture you want.

The flowers aren't quite the same after all, on closer checking .......back to the drawing board on that one
Mine are bigger, 6x6 cm, and speckled right to the edges of the petals.

As for the practicing, it's what it's all about!

thank s anyway

Hey Biker, nice blooms! Mine has been a bloom for a little while now and has gotten significantly paler. Nice to remember what it looked like when it first opened.
By the way, you have litteraly an explosion of colours in that greenhouse!!
