Default I hit the jackpot at Home Depot last weekend!!!

Ok, so I never go to Lowe's or Home Depot for orchids because in my area, either the selection is horrible or the orchids are in such bad shape (root rot, buds blasted) that they're not worth the $25.

Well, I went to HD on Sunday for something, I don't remember what , but it doesn't matter because when I walked in the front door they had 2 8-foot carts full of the most beautiful phals for only $15 bucks a peice! Not only that, but the buds were all intact, the roots were in pristine shape, and the medium was fresh! I was on

Needless to say, I bought 3!! (photos below) They're all NOIDs, but I don't care - I'm going to email the vendor and see if I can get Id's.

1st photos: I've always wanted a white phal, but I love this one because the back of the petals have a hint of pale green and pink.

2nd photos: What can I say? Love at first sight.

3rd photos: See above. I just love the white on the edge of the petals and the color is actually a darker maroon in person.

Nice finds! The yellow one is my favorite. It's all in the timing when it come to buying orchids in big box stores. You have to go just when they get a new shipment!

The middle one (yellow) is my favorite.

Why did you stop at 3? Were there others beside phals?

Thanks, guys - I think the yellow is my fav., too..I just love yellow phals. (but that's just between us )

Lostonthebeach - don't worry, my area doesn't usually carry this stuff. This was truly a once in a lifetime thing!

Marilyn - You are too funny My partner told me I was actually supposed to stop at two and unfortunately, no, they only had phals.

And I forgot to mention - the vendor is Westerlay Orchids in CA. Anyone heard of them? Their website is Westerlay Orchids but it's not very developed, yet - maybe they're new? I just can't say enough about the quality of their orchids I got.
