My birthday orchid
For my birthday I had decided to treat myself to a new orchid, since I was showing severe orchid aquisition withdrawal symptoms. But my friends beat me too it. Lookie what they gave me for my b-day! (they are well aware of my orchid obsession/insanity ). It's just a phal NOID, but a really gorgeous one, I love it!!
I'm happy with the picture too. I bought a new piece of black cloth for the background, and it absorbs the light much better than my old one.

Beautiful orchid and GREAT photo.
The whole birthday orchid thing wouldn't work for me. I haven't admitted to having a birthday for the past 20 years.

Wow, thats nice. If I didn't know any better, and what I know is that Im no expert, I would say that it has some Phal. violacae in it.

That's what I think too. I think mine looks quite a bit like Phal Sweet Memory (which I want) that is 50% violacea (which I also want! ).

Happy "getting older day" Glad to see the youngsters catching up to us old farts (oops, shouldn't have said that ). We old people often quit having birthdays at a certain time. For me it was 60. So I don't age if I don't have parties, right?
Great photo. Glad you're getting your process "dialed-in".
