Right I'll try and answer all the points you have raised above:

1)Care is a windowsill facing east which is over a kitchen sink and near a kettle (which boils often as I don't work!!) and never has curtains drawn so temperature range is 14 to 25 degrees centigrade and humidity is good, but probably not much above average UK. Shaded from intense summer sunshine and extreme winter cold by moving on to work tops. (not very sophisticated but it works!)
2) Feeding is Chempak orchid food, diluted according to instructions, most but not all waterings (less often in winter) 35-10-10 npk ratio.
3)Watering is whenever it looks dry at the bottom which is why I like transparent pots but as I am a cactus grower I tend to the dry side anyway.Watering is always by the immersion method for at least ten minutes.
4) Compost is a mix of what it came in plus coarse coconut compost.
5)It came from Tesco as I recall, with two spikes at the time.
6) Thank you for the identifying photographs I will give them closer scrutiny when I have time

Finally many thanks for all your kind compliments and the advice to check out the icecream tubs, Ross! I just might do that if it weren't 0 degrees C here today ( I prefer hot chocolate at this time of year)

Regards Heather
