fortunately 3 of my other orchids will be flowering soon...
2 of them for the first time (oncidium "scent of a woman" and miltona "yosemite sam") Yeah yeah!!!
You might not have to wait another year for spikes. Some phals seem to bloom whenever they want. I have 2 phals that pretty much have back to back spikes. As soon as one spike is done, another appears within 2 months.

I can't wait to see the bloom pics of your other orchids!

I broke a new stem off a Phal. last year and it spiked off the side from it. May be yours will do the same. I hope.

Also consider the fact that if it does not spike again all the energy that would have gone into the spike and flowers will now be going into the plant giving you a stronger and heartier plant for next time. Bigger and stronger plant should lead to bigger and more flowers.

I bought it in January as a large seedling (bloom within 18 months). Now only a month later there's a flower stem growing.....it doesn't have any bud's yet.

I have my young orchids in my old reptile terrarium for the humidity (it gets really dry in our house in the winter time). Also, they get a lot of afternoon sun from the windows facing west.....

I don't know for sure that that's why they're blooming. I didn't really expect them too bloom yet....

Phals will spike if you can give them a 15 degree drop in temperature from day to night for about 2 weeks. At work we've put hundreds into a 55 degree cooler at night and put them back into the greenhouse during the day when we've needed a group to bloom at a specific time. We get around 90+% spiking success. Usually we just drop the temperature of that whole greenhouse at night. At home I have most of my phals on Eastern facing window sills. During the Spring and Fall the morning sun helps temps warm up during the day, but still drop pretty good at night. We have pretty good success blooming phals with this method, but it sometimes takes longer than 2 weeks due to irregular weather conditions. Spring is almost here, why not give it another shot!
