Default Just a NOID Phal, but I've got it to re-flower!

Most of my posts since I joind OB have been about my sick phal. So I decided it was time for one about one of my healthy phals, especially as it has just started to flower this week.

The spike seemed to take forever to grow and as the weather got colder I wondered if it would stall completely, the first bud seemed big enough to open for weeks and didn't... but it made it in the end

It has pretty pink veins in the white flowers that I don't remember from when I bought it. I had to take lots of pics on different settings before I got ones which captured the colour acurately but I think I got it in the end.

I'm also pleased with how healthy this plant is, it's grown three new leaves since I got it in April and it's not lost any of the old ones, the visible roots are all showing healthy growth as well.

A rare success for me recently!

Lovely flower. Probably good genes are as important as good care. Cause for celebration.

Rosie, sometimes orchids are just genetically/inherently weak, not right and all the attention to them, won't change a thing. The sick phal/s you've spoken of may or may not have had any bearing from your care. And it all adds up to great education for the next ones that come under your reign.

This one is fantastic. The flowers are gorgeous and the plant looks in exceptional health....thanks to your great care. And the same doesn't apply, that in the alternative no matter what you do, you just can't kill it....you deserve the credit for the condition this one is in!

Well done! Great growing!

Thanks everyone... I'm really pleased and it's got pride of place on my mantle piece just now.
