Fren, so I guess this question is a day late and $$$ short but comparing my variegated phal to the yours, which it sounds like it's already trashed, but do the flowers look the same as yours and the variegation, which isn't a pure white as I have seen in others but more a yellow-white the same as yours????? The reason I ask, is because mine currently is a NOID and if they are the same....then I have a name....not that there aren't lots of variegated phals with similar looking flowers......thanks,
H

I bought mine as a group order at my orchid society. It was $4.25 each since the group order was large.
Here is their price list: Agdia: ImmunoStrip for Cymbidium mosaic virus and Odontoglossum ringspot virus
and a brochure: http://www.agdia.com/orchid_product_brochure.pdf
They are convenient kits and very useful. I tested another phal who just was not blooming for years and it was virused (a pitty as it was beautiful if I remember). I have even proven plants with leaf spotting to have no viruses too.

Howard if your plant tests positive I wouldn't chuck it away. It is too beautiful. I would grow it on a separate small windowsill.
My plant after blooming really got ugly and the leaves covered in phal virus symptons. Interestingly it was only after blooming. Since it grew so slow too, I chucked it.

I just ordered one of these. I think it is beautiful. So should I keep it away from my other plants until i know if it has a virus or not? BikerDoc5968...Where did you get your Orchid from? I absolutely love these ones! I hope the one I ordered is as pretty as yours.

Wow, you are so lucky to have found that at a garden center near you. The one I ordered is supposed to be in spike/bud so I hope it will be blooming soon.
