Very nice Tindo. Mine bloomed twice so far this year and has two new leaves and lots of new roots. It's not in the tank, so it stays pretty dry and seems pretty happy. Gets full sun during parts of day (in south window.) Mine has no detectable fragrance (to me.)

Mine's not in a tank either and it's doing great. I repotted 2 months ago, gave it higher light and humidity and now I'm seeing lots of new growth and roots. I have a spike starting too. I find that this plant is really forgiving and can take a wide range of conditions. Perfect for me!

And great flowers Tindo! It sure likes the orchidarium!

Leaf split

I donīt know why your leaf split, but I have seen it happening and try to figure out why. I hve a large Phal. that just got a new leaf, it has grown fast and it was soft, not leathery as the others, so I staged it. The leaf is normal now. The reason might be natural, I think. In nature there will come no water in the crown, maybe??????????

Wow, it sure took a long time for the fragrance to develop! what would you describe it as? (aside from being the smell of yellow!:coverlaugh: )

Tindomul, you asked why I mist 5 times a day well the mister is on about 1 min. each time and it keeps the humidity around 90% +/-. The fan runs 24/7 and the size of the orchidarium is 24.5 wide by 37.5 high and 21.0 inches deep. ITS NOT BIG ENOUGH

If I only mist once the humidity goes down.

Thanks Sheridan:waving

Just wondering, Spider, what you mean by "staging" a leaf? Is this to prevent it from splitting?

:)

Hi,

I don't know how to describe the smell other than very sweet and flowery. Its possible that the scent was there for a long time but I could not detect it at first.

Tin I noticed mine only is fragrant from about 9am - 3pm.
