Jouni the spike will slowly grow through the years but they will never be as long and arching as standard phals. The display on this type phal comes from multiple spikes living and blooming for years.

My Green Jewel was new last year and produced one spike. This year the original spike is blooming plus the new second spike is blooming. Right now I have three flowers open and the fragrance is enjoyed from 10' away. This is probably the most fragrant phal I own.

Brooke, My plant is quite young, but there is two spikes allready, the other one is not blooming, but it's growing all the time.
You are right, the spikes grow slowly, but they never reach the size of standard phals.
... and the fragrance is very fine, but i'm not sure to where to compare with.

Great, thanks you guys.... Now I want one too!!! Green flowers are really pretty, especially when you see them in contrast with the darker green foliage. (like in your pics). I think that the fact that it's fragrant is what made me definately go for it.
