Ross, did you adjust anything on the lip? It seems to be more red/tangerine than before or does it seem that way because the white is whiter?

I used "levels" in photoshop. There was no useful information in the whites in the original image so I moved the slider left to change the color space. (Sorry for the techno, but I have no other way to describe what I did.) I then move the mid point till the colors appeared natural on my monitor. Now, you need to know, my monitor is an expensive LaCie graphics monitor controlled by a live USB connection to the computer. The software constantly adjusts for fading and aberations due to burn in. I am totally convinced that the colors on my monitor are what his camera captured. Are the colors correct on your monitor? I can't tell. Are the colors the camera captured correct? I can't tell. Hope this helps. Only Doc will be able to tell us if the result is anything like the original flower (on his LCD monitor )

I will have to play around with PS. Yes, the colors are more saturated. All of this is very interesting for me since I pride myself in my photographic ability....and showing my best. Something I learned from my father-in-law, among other photo things, who was a "professional" amateur and won hundreds of 1st place awards for his photographs from PSA (Photographic Society of America)
Anyway, here are some shots taken with different lighting and cast different colors on the same flower...the 2nd is more under-exposed.

Just another consideration...and it's one major issue in the digital age...When you get down to brass tacks, unless everyone's monitor is calibrated exactly the same, images are always going to look at least slightly different from monitor to monitor. However, good graphic designers and photographers are able to tweak an image to minimize that difference.

Think that's my point Best we can do is present the image as accurately as possible and let the chips fall...
