Let's see, Sarah, my Hilo Lip has just plain Jane green leaves.
Kiki, I got it from a place called Cascade Orchids. She owns a custom drapery store and sells her orchids out of the shop. No website. People find out about her pretty much by word of mouth.
Doc, you're a bad influence on my orchid spending budget. That's OK though....I'll forgive you.
D, many thanks for the info on parentage. At least I have half the equation. I almost wonder if she wrote the name down wrong. I found lots of Dou-dii hybrids but like you, nothing with Ching Her in the name.
Thanks for looking everyone!

Terri, I am so glad you found a pretty spotted one to keep for your very own! It's lovely! But I am so very sorry about the way that you were forced into it.
I know and truely understand that you would never had attempted such a thing on your own. . .no one can blame you. It's all Bikerdoc's fault.
I, unlike some of you devilish people out there (you know who you are), would never do any such thing! Wouldn't even THINK of it, really.
Imagine, forcing someone, who loves orchids to actually BUY more orchids! And THEN making them feel all bubbly and HAPPY about it! Gad, the nerve, the audacity, the wonder of friends like YOU, Bikerdoc!
I love this place.

O.K. Terri, another beauty! I know what an influence Doc can be on a poor orchid collector. But this a.m. you are responsible for my searching for at least two more!
As for this forum, I can't say enough good things. You folks will never know how much help you have been in so many ways.

OMG! You guys are killin me this morning!
I think we're all pretty good at enabling. Sorry Al! If I had room in my backyard for a greenhouse I'd be all over it. My husband has actually mentioned getting one of the small 6x8 ones from Costco. I think it would be too difficult to regulate temps in such a small space. Especially in the summer. And then there is the whole cost of heating issue. I think a sunroom would actually work better for me.
