Phal schilleriana var purpurea. Scented very heavily of roses. This was last spring's blooming. The plant won Best Phal in Show at the RBG spring show. It had about 40 flowers when all the branches finished opening flowers.

Is this a mini? Or a normal sized? I like the color of the blossom.

Great display on this schilly. I have 1 that bloomed really pink that I think is a purpurea as well which was tagged a normal schilly. I loved the fragrance on mine. Even with just 1 flower (first time bloom) the fragrance was so strong.

side note tangent - anyone know what happened to tik? havent seen her around in a while, forgive me for the possible hi-jack wendy

Again, thank you everyone.

Ross this is a fairly large plant. The leaves are beautifully mottled...I'll take a picture sometime when i remember. The spike on that bloomingwas about 4' long. It put up a small spike after that one faded...it was only about 1 1/2' and only had 8 flowers. I guess it put all its energy into the first effort. I'm hoping for it to do its thing again shortly.
